We at Global Woman met at Vodafone a team of fearless, restless visionaries in a completely new technology, on a mission to create world-changing products that connect people to their homes, their smart devices, and the things they love. 

This is what inspired us to create this event together and invite more women to join so we can be more innovative and get closer to technology.

This is not a normal breakfast meeting – it is extraordinary as we will talk about innovation and technology. We will meet so many brilliant women who are interested to explore more about the possibilities and learn how to use the technology in order to bring innovation in their career development and/or their business.

A recent UN report says, “Women face a multitude of barriers that results in the persistent and sometimes growing gender gaps. As a result, innovations are unlikely to be available on time and at scale to address the needs of women. Transformative results will require private and public sector partners to come together to address these barriers in an integrated manner. While the task looks daunting, being able to demonstrate progress in a given industry could have multiplier effects across other industries that will enable innovation and technology to break current trends and drive achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.”

So, why are women and minorities underrepresented in an area that is growing so fast, how can we address this and how can we change the situation for the future?
